Meet Gerry.

After being diagnosed with esophageal cancer, he and his wife moved from New York to Baltimore, just a few blocks from his daughter and two of his grandsons, ages 3 and 5. Living in Baltimore meant he was able to see his grandkids almost every day – picking them up from school, taking them to the park, watching them grow up. As Gerry said a few nights before he died, “it doesn’t get any better than this… surrounded by my family.”

I’m an oncologist. Every day, I meet patients like Gerry who fight their disease in remarkable ways. This site is about them, their journeys, their stories. It’s a place for all of us – patients, families, friends, doctors, nurses – to share the unique and meaningful ways that people who are living with cancer add life to their days.
